Seascapes

Painted along the Northern California Coast, these paintings of the Pacific Ocean are largely done on site en plein-aire. They are an exploration of light, weather and season. Emphasis on the strong horizontal line of the ocean creates a stable composition and the sense of large distances evokes a feeling of expansiveness. The border structures provide a liminal space allowing the viewer to transition into the painting.
